DIY: Recycle Paper Bags to Create Colourful Luminaries

Hello! Hope you all are in the best of spirits!
I came across a couple of tutorials I've done in the last few months mainly done for a local daily. Just didn't have the time to share them with you people. So for sometime now on, I'll be filling up my blog with these DIYs & Projects. The coming weeks will see a lot of tutorials and the projects I've been on. To start with, here's a super simple tutorial on using paper bags to make luminaries. A great way to recycle and create décor for your home, parties and events.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • A Paper Bag
  • Crepe Paper/Kite Paper in different colours
  • Glue
Step 1: Begin with neatly trimming of the upper part of the paper bag.
Step 2: Make strips from crepe paper. Use different colours for a colourful & vibrant look.
Step 3: One by one glue the colourful crepe paper strips to the paper bag.
Here's what you're final product will look like.

Use LED tea lights or place a plain glass votives to light your luminary up. Alternatively, this can be used outdoors using sand  to hold pillar candles.

I hope you enjoy making these! A great alternative to add some quirky element to your home décor/event décor. They're sure going to brighten up all your blues. ;) Try it out!

Next on the blog: Some cute & unique gift tags.

Till then,
Happy Crafting!

Nature Inspired: Leaf Stamped Votives

Hello people!! Hope you all are doing great! I know I've been missing out on posting regularly - have been extremely busy (and I still am...) with a lot of my other projects. Yet, I took a little time out to get this beautiful project posted here.
Well, the last time I featured a set of recycled coasters done with leaf  stamping. And I'm so in love with the leaf stamp designs that I cant keep my hands off trying it on everything I can think of! So this time, its a set of cute votive's done in different colours! Check it out!
These are snapshots taken in sunlight which clearly shows up all the leaf stamps. They look gorgeous don't they? Here are a few snapshots with led lights.
So all I used for these votive's were some glass paints and metallic acrylic paints for stamping. A really nice way of imbibing an element of nature into home decor.  If you love pretty natural elements, this project is a must for you.

Till then,
Happy Crafting!

Using Chai Glasses to Create Candle Votives II

Hello People! Hope you all are doing well! We're great, in fact, getting better day by day!
Before I go further on my post, I would like to share great news with you people. Firstly, our posts were featured on the decor section in magicbricks.com, the extension site of Times of India which deals in properties & home solutions. Check it out hereSecondly, we've got our first coupon sponsor-27coupons.com who will be sponsoring discount coupons for our blog which we will giveaway in the form of games & contests. We're already giving out our first 10 coupons. For more details do visit our facebook page

So, going to my favourite chai glasses... I must say they're simply awesome! You can simply try out so much with them. In my previous post on Chai Glasses, i had featured chai glasses with only a detailed design with a plain glass rim. This time I tried painting the glasses in a combination of vibrant colours with a detailed design on the glass rim. Here are a few snapshots... and yes, they look beautiful.
Here are the snapshots with the chai glasses lit up with led tea lights.
Don't they simply look awesome? I simply love the effect they radiate.
Well, just for your knowledge all these glasses have been painted in permanent glass paints. So there's no worry about the paints fading away or scraping off! They're forever to stay!

I would love to hear your thoughts and comments on these. Good or bad, do tell us what you think! And for those of you who would love to purchase any of these do email me at kraftykrook@yahoo.in
In the meanwhile, you could also purchase our chai glasses at Shopo and YellowTrunk.

I look forward to hearing from you guys..

Till then,
Happy Crafting!

Wine Bottle Illuminary

A while ago I had a post written on Stunning Lighting Decor from Old Liquor/Wine Bottles where I used bottles to create illuminaries. This is just an  addition to the collection but with a unique design.

I totally love Moroccan art & designs and I believe they can make any accessory look stunning may it be a bottle, a lantern, a jar or for that matter any other decor item. The intricate designs are simply superb and stunning.
This wine bottle is done up in fuchsia and fluorescent yellow with black detailing. Here are a few snapshots of the wine bottle:

A Closer Look
This piece had been in my WIP for quite sometime now... More because of the intricacy and detailing required over here. I hope to try out some more designs especially on bottles and yes, not to forget jars.
Till then, happy Crafting!
